Ok let's change this hiatus into a semi-hiatus. I'll only blog on Wednesdays! Why? Because today is a wednesday lor!
Shall I tell you how I got my name (NATALIE)?
Once upon a time, a looooooong time ago, back when there were still black and white films and agogo at discos and bata shoes were cool, my mum and dad were dating. And they went to see a movie (which is what couples normally do, right?) and they saw....

Wowza! Chio, right?
The one in the centre lah! She's called
Natalie Wood.
Yes, it's a black and white image, because EVERYTHING WAS BLACK AND WHITE THEN, remember?
So anyway my dad couldn't stop staring and my mum slapped him hard on the cheek with a stinky salmon fish.
Just kidding.
My parents thought she was heck-a-lotta pretty and thought:
Hmmm, maybe if we name our daughter after her, she will be just as pretty! But unfortunately, when daughter was born, to their horrid surprise, she was ten times uglier, ten times less glamourous, ten times less photogenic etc., but on the plus-side, TEN TIMES YOUNGER!
Which is quite sad to note, that most parents would probably name their children after someone who has made a great contribution to the society, like Thomas Tan after Thomas Edison or Benjamin after Benjamin Franklin or something like that.
Hmm, Marie Curie Wong doesn't sound all that bad.
But I got named after an ACTRESS! And my mum didn't even know the meaning of the name before she named me, which now we know means gift of Christmas or something like that.
Roar. How superficial.
But anyway I googled her yesterday, she was a noteworthy actress who apparently she died more than 20 years ago. And died quite young. Tragic.
At least I got named after a good actress. Yay for me.
Now how did you get your name?editWhile researching for my yilunwen oral thingy I found
this. And it's really quite true. So read.
